Hello from Patty on November 3rd! Bonehead is still sleeping. On Wednesday, the 1st, Dan and I went to Colossal Cave, Saguaro National Park, and into the East side of Tucson to a Costco. Colossal Cave is a dry cave and its very small. It looks really different from wet caves. I had been here before with Michael when he lived in Tucson. Remember that Michael? Dan liked the cave. I regret that I didn't take my camera into the cave with me. After seeing the cave, we went to the Saguaro National Park. Because its a national park, we got in free with Dan's national park pass. Having that sure saves us alot of money! We were in the east side of the park and I was reading that there aren't as many Saguaro cactus on this side. In about a month we'll be going into the west side when we go see Old Tucson. We both love the Saguaro. They are so old and have so much character. I'm glad they are protected by law now, otherwise people would be digging them up all the time. We went on a one way road, 8 miles long, through the park. We did the usual stuff, like walking some of the trails through the cactus and taking lots of pictures. It was hot! We figure it was in the high 80's. Short sleeve weather for sure! After we came out of the park, we headed for Costco. Made it there, shopped, then got out of Tucson before rush hour traffic started. It was a good day. We even made it home before dark so Bonehead could go outside. Patti. Ask Michael if he remembers the signs along I-10 advertising about "The Thing". I can't remember what it was. It was advertised on a huge yellow bill board.........Yesterday we just stayed home except for a trip into Tombstone to the post office. Dan put another new part on his Banks Breaking System. I've been trying to figure out where we'll be staying next if we go see Michelle in Portales, New Mexico. If we see her, I know we'll be coming back south through Odessa, Texas to see another bike friend, then travel back west on I-10 to the west side of Tucson. We'll be stopping for about a week so we can go to the west side of the national park, see Old Tucson, and whatever else is around that area. Then our intention is to head to Quartzite, Arizona and meet up with friends. Patti and Michael. We ARE gonna come see you. We just don't know when yet. Thats a long drive east on I-10. I have to be a weather watcher as we want to try and stay in half way decent weather. I have no idea where we'll be for Christmas. We might have to decorate a cactus!

I remember the cave and The Thing is a mummy or petrified body. Can't remember which. It might be both.
