Meow to you all and Happy New Year! Mom sure has been slacking. She hasn't written since 12/23! I don't blame her though. None of us liked the rv park that much. Mom made Papa a nice Christmas Eve dinner and they both went to dinner at the rv park on Christmas day. Free food. Free is good. meow meow meow.........We pulled out of the rv park on the 26th and have been out in the desert ever since. I LOVE it out here! Papa and I go for long walks several times a day. We've walked so far a couple of times that I got tired and just sat and waited for him to pick me up and carry me back. I have him trained really good! Actually, I do get tired sometimes. Mom says that I'm slowing down a bit and shes probably right. Anyway, we walk and walk and walk. There are a gazillion holes out here in the desert and Mom was told that kangeroo rats live in them. I sure haven't seen one yet, but I know they are there. I have a good nose ya know. I've had my head stuck down several holes looking and have tried digging them out, but no such luck yet. I can hear the cayotes out here at night too and I try and stay real close to Papa when we're walking. I sure value my fur and don't want to be taken captive by some stupid thing that resembles a dog!......Papa and Mom love it out here in the desert too. Papa is working on setting up the 5th wheel with more stuff so we can be more comfortable dry camping. So far he has put in a portable, collapseable water tank in the back of the truck. I'll have Mom take a picture of that and put it in the next post.....Papa and Mom did a day trip to Yuma to check out other rv parks and they came back very dissapointed. There are lots of parks and all the rv's are parked close together. Whats with that anyway? All the room here in the desert and your neighbor is right next to you? Oh, meow (oh sigh). I like this desert living. Hope we can camp in the desert when we decide to leave here. They took a detour from Yuma and found some more BLM land along the Colorado River. Papa really sounded excited about that. They were by the Yuma Proving Ground. Papa took some pictures of a helicopter and tanks. Army stuff. Maybe we'll be dry camping there soon.....They have also been to Blythe, CA and Parker, AZ. Mom found Starbucks there and she was a happy dry camper! Thats where they go when they need a big grocery store. Quartzsite only has little stores. I heard them both talking and they might go back to Parker and a little place called Bouse to look at places to stay.....Last night they gathered around a bonfire with friends Kittie and Bruce (from Bandon, Oregon) and their high school friends. Jim/Carol and Dennis/Sandy. Also two guys that are here living in the desert, Don and Bill. Kittie and Bill played their guitars and I guess they did some sing alongs. They had a pot luck and hung around the bonfire to bring the New Year in. Papa came back home (just across the dirt road) to take me out for a couple of nice night walks. Sure do love walking with my Papa!.......HAPPY HAPPY MEOW NEW YEAR to all our family members and friends that read this. Oh, ok. To all the family and friend's dogs too, even the yippy ones. meow meow meow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
