Bonehead's Traveling People

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to get the 5th wheel on September 10th! Remember that we dropped it off for repair on July 16th. They never did fix the main problem, the tires on the right side wearing on the outside, especially the back tire. They only changed two of the tires. We've been fighting with them ever since we took it in. No one listened. And the first two weeks it was there, no one did anything on it. We tired to also tell them that the shower didn't drain. Did they check it? No. FINALLY about 2 weeks ago it was finally checked and they discovered there was no way for the water to drain out of the shower. Just what we had been trying to tell them. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! Anyway, we'll go pick it up as we are tired of fighting with them. The people in Indiana where our rig was built have been trying to help. At least they call us back. Seeing as our problem with the spindle was not fixed (we believe that is the problem), we'll be buying new tires about every 5000 to 6000 miles. We'll just keep an eye on them. The rv place is trying to tell us that the tires are rubbing on the wheel well. Not true. Oh sigh. Just be aware that if you take your rig to Lifestyles RV in Mount Vernon, Washington, you might have some problems. I'm sure that they are not like this all the time with everyone, but we sure have been dealing with some very uncaring people for the past 6 weeks or so. Its not fun to be "homeless" for that long of a time and living out of suitcases in motels and with family. Enough of that. September 17.............We picked up our rig on 9/10. FINALLY! Still not happy with it but we'll deal with that issue somewhere on down the road. We're leaving my mom's place on 9/19 or 9/20. Depends on when we finish up everything we wanted to do in getting "road ready" again...........This last Sunday we had a BBQ for family and friends that we hadn't managed to see this summer. Dan brought out the quad and gave the little kids rides. They were all thrilled! Even though it was a rainy day, a good time was had by all...........I'll get back into writing in the blog soon as we leave here. I'll have more time to play around on the computer then. Not too sure where we're gonna go yet. Guess we'll decide that when we're out on the road. I'm almost sure that we'll be heading out on I-90 for awhile before we drop down to the southwest. I'll be pouring over maps again and playing with the GPS and looking stuff up on the computer. We really would like to find places to stay for at least a month at a time. Places where we can ride the quad and take the Harley out too. Oh! And places we can go play with the metal detector. Being away from the big cities suits us just fine. We were thinking of exploring eastern Utah. Just not sure. Maybe whoever reads my blog can throw some ideas our way.
