Merry Christmas YESTERDAY! HOHOHO! Another Christmas in the cold desert gone. Its only 32 right now. Are we back home in Bremerton or what? Suppose to be 60 today and I know thats alot warmer then home, but its still a cold 60. We wanted to eat outside yesterday, but it was very, very windy. (We had to take our Santa down because of the wind. Oh sigh.) So, we were all cozy in Jim and Carol's rig. We sure had alot of food and it was all good. Ham, mashed spuds, sweet spuds, cranberries, green beans, baked beans, salads, rolls, pies, cookies, fudge, pudding, yum, yum yum!!!!!! There was enough to feed an army and make everyone's bellies feel Santa round! Here is a picture of the motley crew in the desert for Christmas dinner. From left to right.............Don (lives past us at the dead end), Jerry and wife Pat next to him. Jim sitting in front. Carol in the pink. Sandy in the green with hubby Dennis in the red. Guy standing in front of Dan is Ralph. His wife Linda is taking the pic. Here is Linda because she didn't get in the picture. You can even see our rig in the background out the window.Ok. Now all our bight holiday faces are here. It was a great time had for all and all these desert snowbirds are just the greatest, nicest people to be around....We heard from family back home. My sister Christine said that it was all good and it snowed Christmas day. Well ok then. It was cold and windy here, but NO snow! Thank goodness! hahahahahaha........I'll tell ya that my poor tomatoes don't like this cold weather! If you all remember that when we started out on our adventures in September, I took two Early Girl tomato plants with me. We've had tomatoes all this time until this nasty freezing weather came along. I don't think my green tomatoes will turn red anytime too soon. Its probably time to "retire" my two plants. They are looking quite ragged anyway....I think my cold is gonna stay with me forever! I'm still taking antibiotics and will finish a whole 10 days of doing that. I still have the nagging cough and can't totally clear my chest of the crap stuck in it. That hasn't stopped me from going for another couple of quad rides with Dan though. Putting the bandanna over my nose and mouth really makes a difference and then I just bundle up in my Harley riding clothes and I keep warm. What REALLY keeps my head warm is the cute pink earmuffs. I sure do love them! We took one ride that took us west towards Blythe through two mountain passes. When we got on the other side of the passes, everything looked the same. The sky was cloudy so you couldn't tell where the sun was. I'm gonna take a compass with us next time we go on a long ride. Dan just laughs at me, but I had that "closed in" feeling like you're in a blinding snowstorm and you can't see which way to go. There are miles and miles and miles of the same scenery. Interesting scenery though. We seen where people have done some mining. Sometimes small operations and sometimes BIG operations. Dan ALWAYS has to go look in the hole, whether its straight down or in the side of a hill. (I think hes part critter that likes dark caves.) The desert is rather pretty when you're out and away from people camping. The other ride was just an hour long. Took our garbage to the dumpster and then just went out across one of the big dry washes and rode around. Checked out a couple of mines, of course........Now that Christmas is over, we are looking forward to the New Year Eve party out here around a bonfire. And, we'll need a BIG bonfire cause its not gonna be as warm as it was at last years party. Just bundle up, enjoy the company, and have fun!...........I will tell you that Bonehead does not like the wind and looks at us like we can magically stop it. haha.....She still goes out at night with Dan in hot pursuit of whatever she can find. Seeing as this blog is named after her, I guess I'll take some more Bonehead pics just to keep her image fresh in everyone's mind. Of course you can always go back in the archives if you wanna see her really bad.........Ok. I'm signing off. I'm rambling.....
