Today we are dog sitting for our Canadian pals, Jim and Kathy. Brandy is a cute little mutt. 13 years old and just a ball of fur. He really, really likes Dan. They are laying of the sofa. Dan at one end and Brandy at the other end. Dan is watching the NASCAR race from Sunday that he had recorded and Brandy is trying to take a morning snooze. Today will also be "house chore" day. Sweep, dust, etc. Maybe bake some cookies. Just gonna be a lazy, retired day.........We went out Geo caching on the quads a few days ago with Kathy. We found two new caches and one old one that we had seen last "snowbird" season when we were all here. It was a good ride and it was hot out. We covered about 25 miles out in the flat desert and the mountains. Thats a long 25 miles when you're only going anywhere from 10mph to 35mph all the time. Ya just don't speed out in the desert. Mainly if you don't wanna be covered in dust. Here are a few pictures of Dan and Kathy finding the Geo caches and some scenery pictures. I love the one of the cactus up on the hill. Speaking of dust. We had a dust storm here yesterday. We could see it off in the distance from where we are camped. Looked like it was covering I-10 and the mountains. We had to drive into Blythe, CA yesterday to get my glasses fixed, hit Starbucks and Albertsons and on the way back home as we were coming down the hill into Quartzsite, looking out across the town and to the East, it was nothing but dust, dust, dust. I'm glad it didn't come over top of us or we'd be out cleaning windows and screens today.........We took a short ride last night to see friends from Washington that come here every year to sell their wares. They make and sell the Grill Guard. Its this thing that you set your BBQ in and it retains the heat and keeps the wind out. We met Doug and Joann right after we bought our 5th wheel. We were staying on an Marrowstone Island not too far from my mom's house and they were staying on their property on the Island. Here is Doug's website for his business. Check it out. http://www.grillguard.com.....It might be something that would interest you.......Anyway, I'm gonna go fill the hummingbird feeders and make some cinnamon chocolate chip cookies for Dan.
