Thursday, 2/26.........Today was a rather lazy day after the trip to Catalina Island. Dan and I rode the quad into "Q" to pick up at mail at general delivery, went to the veggie store, and looked at a couple of vendors. Came back home and gathered with everyone else for snacks and margaritas in the desert. We were actually celebrating a birthday, Mary from Canada. It was a good gathering. Friday, 2/27.........Dan played the leader/tour guide for a quad ride today. There were 5 quads behind us. We headed out past where General Patton's company A,B,D had been then out through what Dan and I think is an old volcano crater. It was so pretty and green. Much greener then it had been about 1 1/2 months ago when we were there the last time. Our destination was the old stage coach stop. We ate a small lunch and then ventured on towards home. It was a great ride! I love the picture of the dust cloud in back of our quad. Thats just how it is when you're out riding on the larger quad trails. Poofy dust. Glad we were the leaders this time. We've been in the back lots of times. You can see in the picture that no one is real close to us. hahahaha...When ya go quad riding, plan on getting dirty and dusty. Saturday, 2/28.........Dan and I went for a 57 mile quad ride today. 57 miles is a long ways to go when you're on quad trails all the time way out in the desert. It was hot out and it was great. The desert is starting to bloom as you can see by the pretty pink flowers on this cactus. We ended up going a long ways on one trail that led us into a working mine. That was a mistake. We were near the freeway and found a tunnel to drive through, going under the freeway. We were lucky. Sunday, 3/1...........We got up to my cousin Lynn and her friend Bob pulling up in a motorhome and parking by us all day and spending the night. They watched the NASCAR race with us and just hung out. It was a lazy day and really nice outside. Monday, 3/2..........Lynn and her pal left this morning. Canadian Jim and Kathy also left to return home to Saskatchewan. After everyone left, Dan and I took another quad ride. Went a totally different way then we had been going. Saw more and more flowers starting to bloom. This time when we rode we were only in t-shirts. It was about 95 or 96 out. Very nice. We love the hot weather! Desert scenery pictures.
