Just a short note. As you can see my flamingo, "Flo", is ready for Christmas. I left her out in the big storm and she held up pretty good. The weather looks like it might start warming up during the day a little bit, maybe. I think it looks strange to see people all bundled up when I go into Quartzsite and we're in the desert. I think alot of people have misconceptions about the desert. I know that I did back in 2002. Dan and I were on a month long trip riding on our Harley in August. The weather had been hot, hot, hot on our last long leg of the trip from the Grand Canyon up to Yakima, WA for a bike rally until we got into Nevada. In the eastern side of Nevada and Oregon we about froze our butts off. We were in mostly in desert type country but it was "high desert". BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. We didn't plan on that cold of weather. We woke up one morning to 32 degree weather in John Day, Oregon with ice on people's windshields towards the end of August. In my mind it was like, "whats with this?" Thats when I learned how cold the high desert gets, even in the summer. So now I'm sitting here in our rig in LaPosa north in desert that isn't "high" wondering if we should someday go farther south in search of "stay warm all the time" weather. Of course we won't as we love it here, but I personally sure think about it. I'm sure that I'm not the only one out here in Quartzsite that is waiting for the weather to warm up. I know that I'm probably a wimp, but I'll continue to be wimpy until I can go outside during the day and not feel a bad wind chill coming from the north. Ok. I'm done complaining. Now I'll take a drive to Blythe to Albertsons and pick up some stuff for fudge. And make a visit to Starbucks. WOOHOO! That always makes me warm up!!!!!!!!!
