First of all I wanna apologize for the way the blog turned out this time. I've had some real problems getting slide shows on here lately. The program that I was using isn't on the internet anymore, so I've been experimenting with different online programs. Most of them have failed or I'm not willing to learn all the crap that goes with some of them. Then you have the ones that you have to pay for. Well, if I find one that is easy to use, I'd be more then willing to purchase the program. For now, I'm using whatever is free and its just really slow going. I wanted to put more pictures on here and label them but it was becoming so time consuming that I'm just happy with what is on here now. This is why I've been so slow in getting my blog out there. And I've had this dumb cold that Dan was more then happy to share with me. GRRRRRR I hope the slide shows work for everyone. If they don't, please put a comment here on the blog or send an email so I know. Heres a small slide show of New Years Eve. Just alot of sitting around the big fire and chatting. Just another normal night except that we all stayed up until midnight. LOL LOL LOL
Life has again been very busy. Last time I wrote I was gonna tell you about going to Swansea Mining Camp. I am so far behind on my blog right now that I'm gonna give you a web-site so you can read all about it. http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/az/swansea.html We all had a good time and if you like history, you'll love this place. After this day trip we've been out riding on the quad several more times and did more "sitting around the campfire" and sharing outdoor dinners. Its been fun but very busy. I should have kept notes on everything we've done, but I didn't, so you'll be seeing lots of pictures and reading fewer words. On 1/12 Kittie/Bruce, Sandy/Dennis, Jan/Dick, Ron/Jean, Kathy/Sonja, Jerome, Dave, and Dan and I all headed to Cottonwood, Arizona. Everyone took their RV's except us, Ron/Jean, and Kathy/Sonja. We stayed in a motel. Woohoo for having a bathtub to soak in! Thats something I really miss by living in an RV. Anyway, we all went on the Verde Canyon Railroad. We traveled first class so our railroad car had sofas instead of just regular train seats. It was a 4 hour trip and appetizers were served. I took lots of pictures, of course. I love riding on the train. Here is the web-site to read all about our adventure. www.verdecanyonrr.com. Happy reading. If you get the chance take the train trip. We really liked it............Things have calmed down around here. Most of the New Years gang have gone back home. Now Quartzsite is booming with the, are you ready for this?, "BIG TENT"!!!!! Right now there is vacation, sports, and RV vendors in it right now. This HUGE white tent full of everyone and everything brings in lots and lots and lots of people, thus making Quartzsite VERY crowded right now. Next up in the "BIG TENT" is a car show. This little desert town is almost scary right now. The majority of people coming here for the Winter and to all the shows that are happening around here, are retired. RETIRED! Not in a rush, why hurry?, take your time, etc. NOT! For being retired, I've never in my life seen people in such a hurry to get somewhere! And that somewhere is usually just down the block to the next row of vendors who will still be there if you take a few extra seconds and not rush. Thats what scares me about driving in Quartzsite right now. Sure hope there is milk left in the little grocery store when I need to go get some. Gotta have that morning latte!........Ok then. Next up on the blog will be scenery pictures and that will probably take a few days to complete. Probably won't write any blog entry. Just put pretty pictures on here for everyone to enjoy. If any of you can't "see" the slide shows, please let me know via email or the comment section under this blog entry. I would appreciate any comments. Maybe the program I used in this blog entry isn't the best one for showing my pictures. Thanks!
