We had some excitement early evening yesterday, Sunday 5/10. First of all to remind people where we are. We are parked beside the Catholic Mission in Quartzsite, AZ where our friends Russ and Deb are caretakers. After the Mass and potluck last night, people were leaving and seen a rattle snake up against the church wall. Poor guy was cold and I'm thinking he cozied up against the wall because it was warm. He was probably enroute to his home. No one really wanted to kill it, so the local firemen came to remove him from the church, but by time they got here, the snake ventured away to his home I guess. Russ described the snake and one of the firemen said that it was a Western Rattlesnake. He was about 2 1/2 feet long. We were told that they are not aggressive and want to avoid people unless provoked. Dan provoked him a little bit with a stick. I got some pictures of him.
