Since we left Utah, our days have been rather uneventful until we got almost to Yakima, Washington. We spent the night at the Yakima Indian RV Park by the Legions Casino. We went into the casino to eat at the buffet and play the penny slots. We were only in there about 1 1/2 hours. When we went into the casino it was nice and sunny outside. When we left the casino we could hardly get out the door. We managed to get back to our rig and then found out that a major storm was coming in from the east side of the Cascade Mountains. It was WINDY, DUSTY, and then is rained. I thought we were gonna blow over. Sure glad it didn't last long and that we wouldn't have to travel in it on our next travel day. Bella has been learning how to climb trees. Shes good climbing up but still has a problem coming down. Living in a controlled environment for the first 10 months of her life didn't prepare her for everything out in the real world. Shes learning and she loves it! Well, we're not in the flat Sonora Desert anymore. Not when you see the ramp sign. LOL LOL This was coming down the grade from Deadman's Pass. Hows that for a name? I thought this was just a pretty shot of the different colors. We stopped on an on-ramp for a break. Yup. We are definitely not in the desert anymore!!!!!!!!!! I believe this is Mt. Hood down in Oregon. I didn't take the time to make sure I was right or wrong. Just chillin. Well, today 5/12 we didn't get very far at all. As we were leaving Yakima on I-82 we were driving up a hill and the truck broke. BROKE! Smoke was coming out of the engine. Oh boy. We had to call AAA to have them send out two trucks. One for our broken truck and a big truck to pull our home. We are now parked in the back lot of the Ford dealership while they check out the truck. They offered to let us park here while the truck is being worked on, but we can't stay but a couple of days. We need to be in an RV park where Dan can dump the black/grey water. That fun chore he has........Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We're broken. AAA sent two two trucks to get us. A smaller one for our truck and a bigger one for the 5th wheel. I didn't like being stopped right along the freeway. The vehicles go by so fast and it was rather scary. And no cops showed up to see what was wrong and no one stopped to see if we were ok. So much for brotherly love. Oh well. Hood was up, we were in trouble, no one cared, and life goes on. Parked at the Ford dealership in Yakima with the red van they gave us for a loaner. We had two choices after they checked out our truck. Buy a new truck or buy a new long block. A new truck? I don't think so. And be stuck with getting hardly nothing for our truck cause its broken? And being stuck with high payments for 72 months? Not! We opted for the new long block. Was the best choice for us. Dan says we blew a hole in the number 5 piston. Oh sigh. And here is the guy who towed our rig off the freeway. He came back to tow us to an RV park here in Yakima. What a nice guy. We got out cheaper this time. Works for us! Cheap is good. Pulling into our new spot that we have for 6 days. Nice park at a golf course. Bella doing the tree climbing thing again. Again she did good going up but didn't quite navigate quite so good coming down. Dan got the step stool and assisted her. She is so funny to watch. I'm so glad we adopted her. And, thats whats happening with us now. Waiting for the Ford people to make our truck happy and hanging out in the RV park in the rain, rain, and more rain.
