I'm still working on getting better. I feel a whole lot better than when I last wrote. Except for doing laundry yesterday and doing the one trip up north to Parker to Safeway, I've been house bound. The air outside has just been took cold to breath down into my lungs. I'm thinking of venturing out with Dan on the quad tomorrow though. I'll bundle up and cover my nose and mouth. I love out home, but need to get out of here. I did put up our little Christmas tree and experimented making pumpkin/eggnog pie. The pie turned out good and our little Charlie Brown tree is cute. I've missed a few "Kodak moments' with Bonehead laying on her truck by the tree and playing with the decorations and branches. I've been waiting for the tree to tip over. Shes very mischievous and I know the tree will probably topple over at least once. Thank goodness its small!...............We have been having some pretty sunsets. You probably looked at the pictures in the last post. Well, these next two pictures are of the sunset but looking East to the mountains. You can see how pink they are from the reflection of the sun setting in the West. I stood in the doorway of our rig and snapped both of them. It was much prettier in person, but you get the drift anyway. Dan is always outside at sunset watching the great sunsets. Me too when I don't have a cold. When it was warmer out we would sit in our lawn chairs and just stare off into the West and enjoy the show. The desert really is quite pretty. Yesterday Dan went with some of our quad riding buddies to a coin hunt put on by a local metal detector club. He did this last year too and found a quarter with a number on it which in turn was a prize of a gold nugget. Not this year. He only found change. He came home with $4.45 which we put into our jar of all the money we've both found metal detecting. He said that he had a great time and will probably do the coin hunt next month too. I'm glad hes getting out and doing stuff. I hate to see him stuck here with me all the time. Hopefully he won't pick up on this stupid cold of mine. So far, so good. Hes faithful about taking his vitamin C, which he believes helps.............Dan might work the NASCAR race in Las Vegas the first weekend in March. He talked to the lady that hires and she gave him a choice of working in an information booth or be stationed outside one of the VIP suites making sure that only the paying people get in there. Hes taking that latter position cause he can also see the race at the same time hahaha....Thats one way to see the race and get paid for it too! We'll be given a free place to "dry camp" close to the track and Dan will do 4/10 hour days and get paid for it. Hey, diesel fuel money. Bonehead and I will just hang at our home. As I'm not working I won't be able to get into the races unless I pay. Or unless I give in and decide to work one of the information booths. We'll see. Dan thinks this is something that he will enjoy doing and it gets your foot in the door, so to speak, to be able to come back year after year to the same job. It wouldn't be too bad to follow the races here in the southwest. This will be the 4th time that we've gone through Las Vegas. Seems like its becoming a normal route for us. Instead of going through Utah to get home this time, I'd like us to go up through Nevada and travel a different way. I'll be getting out the Nevada maps in a couple of months and check out the routes.
