And so, life goes on without our beloved Bonehead. Its been one week and one day since we had to "put her down" and its been a REALLY hard week without her. We continue on living though sometimes just going through the motions.....The day after she died, Kittie,Bruce,Dan,and I all went on a quad ride which we named the "Bonehead Memorial Ride"........I must tell you about the first two pictures on the slide show before you see the Memorial Ride pictures. While Dan and I were with Bonehead at the vet Kittie was at home in her rig. She told me that something told her that she needed to go outside and take some pictures of our 5th wheel, which she did. Remember now that we were not there. She asked me later what time Bonehead had passed away in Dan's arms and we told her it was about 6:15-6:20pm. Well, that was the time that she had the feeling she needed to take the pictures. I don't know what she felt or why she did it. I'm not even sure she knows why. It was just something she had too do. Kittie said that maybe Bonehead needed to come back to where she had been happy and loved, and our 5th wheel sitting in the desert was the last place that she had been where she had the loving memories. Kittie "sensed" this and I so believe her......It was a very somber ride for me and Dan but we really needed to bundle up and get away from the 5th wheel for awhile. It was cold starting out as you can see by the way I was dressed. Heavy coat and earmuffs. But it was a pretty day and a good one for a rememberance to Bonehead. The four of us rode to Dripping Springs which is always a nice ride. The closer you get to the Springs, the prettier it gets. Kittie took lots of pictures of us riding to the Springs. I remember the way we both felt during that ride. We were both remembering Bonehead and thinking about her all the time. When I seen the pictures that she took of us, I can see the pain and grief etched across our faces. We did a good thing though by going on this ride. Kittie and I both took some nice scenery pictures. This was good therapy for both Dan and I, as writing in this blog helps me. I put a few pictures of the Springs that I had taken before on another trip just so you could see the cave where the Springs do seep and drip. I mostly hung around the quad, taking pictures while Dan,Bruce, and Kittie all went exploring. While I was sitting on the quad taking pictures and just enjoying the scenery, this little ground squirrel came right up to the quad and started chowing on some scraps of food that had been dropped while we had our small picnic. This little critter was very happy and he scurried around picking up the food, taking it to his home somewhere that I couldn't see, probably for future use. Then he would sit close to where I was and eat his fill. Bonehead would have been very excited to see him scurrying around......It was a great ride and we went with great, compassionate people who we love very much......You can always "google" Dripping Springs in Quartzsite to read about it...........Now that I've gotten my some more pictures and writings about Bonehead on here, I'll concentrate on finishing up with the end of our trip to Mexico. Going to Tombstone, Willcox, and Yuma. Seeing as Bonehead was still with us then, you'll probably read about her adventures too.........Keeping up with the blog has been hard since she "passed" and I never had intentions of falling so far behind. I appreciate that everyone keeps coming back to see if I've written anymore.
