Hey there! We finished up our visit in Vegas with Christine and Tonya and left there on 3/18. We are now at the Barstow, CA KOA until after Easter weekend. We'll be leaving here on 3/25. Before we left Vegas we went to Tonya's house for a yummy dinner.BubbleShare: Share photos - Play some Online Games. Other then that, we just hung around our place and prepared for traveling. Getting propane and fueling up the truck...On the way to Barstow I took a picture of this road sign. Can you figure out how to say the name of this road?... Talking about fuel, its over 4 bucks a gallon for diesel here! OH MY! Thats ALOT! And I was thinking that $2.89 to $3.50 was high when we were in Quartzsite. Its gonna be an expensive trip going back home!...BubbleShare: Share photos - Powered by BubbleShare The KOA is ok. Not the best and not the worst. We are parked under a huge tree which is driving our satellite crazy when the branches move with the wind. I finally stowed the satellite and am using the park's wifi. We are also using the park's cable. Thats sure different then using direct tv! We've walked all around the park checking it out. There is an old pool table in the rec room and Dan and I shot some pool yesterday (3/19) with sweaty hands and no 4 ball. It was fun but sure could have used some talc for our hands. The swimming pool is suppose to open Friday (3/21). I'm sure that we'll try that. Its suppose to be heated. Its been nice and warm here during the day, but not warm enough to keep a swimming pool comfortable. I've been enjoying the sunshine in the morning, sitting outside and drinking my latte........BubbleShare: Share photos - Powered by BubbleShare Yesterday we also went into Barstow to explore. Found a grocery store and a Starbucks. WOOHOO! I didn't expect to see a Starbucks! We came back to the KOA via the old route 66. That was cool.BubbleShare: Share photos - Find great Clip Art Images. Today we went to Calico Ghost Town. That was a neat place. Its an old silver mine. You can read about it at www.calicotown.com or www.ghosttowngallery.com/htme/calico.htm. I'm sure there is many more sites to see stuff about the ghost town. Heres a few pictures for you to check out. There are a few really strange pictures in here where it looks like we're standing at a slant. It was the weirdest little house I'd ever been in. There are 3 pictures of Dan trying to fight gravity to get out of a chair. He had a hard time. I guess some guy built himself the house when he lost part of a leg or lost his foot. I can't remember. He made it so he'd walk level.BubbleShare: Share photos - Powered by BubbleShare See ya again soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
