Before we left Angels Camp, Dick and Jan's daughter Kim came by to see us. What a nice young woman!

We had a nice stay there and loved being out on the fairgrounds almost by ourselves. We traveled over all these little two lane roads to reach the dreaded I-5, drove on that for awhile around Sacramento then got on hwy 20 heading for the Redwood Highway 101. It was a LONG day! We never travel all day long. We just couldn't find a place to stop for the night. Our rig was too big for most of the places we seen. Alot of RV parks along hwy 101 are small and cramped. Sometimes there isn't much room for anything. Its not exactly the wide open spaces along the ocean. We finally found Benbow Village RV Resort and Golf Course in Garberville, California. It was after 6pm when we pulled in so we stayed two nights instead of one. This is a REAL nice park. Dennis and Sandy, if you read this you'd love it with the full hookups and golf course right next to you. Its a place that we'll stop at again if we're in the area.

We didn't venture very far when we left there. Only about 140 miles up the coast to Klamath, California. This place is centrally located to things we wanted to see, so we're staying here for 7 days at Camper Corral RV Park. We'll have our mail catch up with us here. Again we're parked out in the grass. A nice "mom and pop" type park in a nice area. This park has everything you could want. Its comfortable and the people are really nice. We can even ride the quad around the park and to the Klamath River if we want. Haven't done that because of the rain. We'll see. Maybe.

We're right across the hwy from one of the "Drive thru" trees. Of course our truck can't fit. We walked through it instead. Interesting. I guess there is more then one "drive thru" tree along hwy 101. I didn't know that.

We've been north to Crescent City (stopping at the ocean beach) to get groceries, fuel, propane, and went to the Trees of Mystery. I'd been here several times. Last time was in 1987 so there was a new sky ride. Dan hadn't been there before. I think he liked it. Its all about Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox. Poor Babe. She lost her head. There was some maintenance being done on her and her head fell off. She looked really sad. ha! Gotta consider shes been standing in the same place for a long time. I remember seeing her when I was about 5 or 6 years old! I think its a fun place to see. I was gonna make a slide show of my pictures but am having a problem doing that for some reason this time. Probably operator error. ha! Anyway, I'll just put them on here one at a time so this will look like a long post. Here is the website to check it out yourself. http://www.treesofmystery.net

This weekend we'll just hang around home. Do "home" stuff. Watch the nascar races, work on the blog, play on the computer, etc. Everyday normal life..........What a difference from being in Quartzsite and Vegas! The countryside is ever changing and we can tell that we're getting closer to home with all the green green green and trees! Its not as warm and we've had rain since we've been here.
