We arrived in Parker, Arizona on 10/17. Gonna stay at the La Paz County Park until 10/24. We've stayed here before and liked it. We're right on the Colorado River with water and electric. Its been VERY hot here and we're just loving it! I'm going to ramble about the weather. Anyone who knows me is aware that I hate being cold. Dan doesn't like being cold either, but hes not as bad about it as I am. I'm doing my fair share of sweating now, but thats ok. Better to sweat then have your fingers hurt from the cold. (Oh. I forgot that women don't sweat. We just glow and shimmer. hahahahaha). Anyway, Dan and I are happy with the weather. We open all the doors, most of the windows, all three fantastic fans are going, the overhead fan in the kitchen is going, and we can get a nice breeze going through our rig. We do not use the air conditioner. The big motor home next to us runs his air and he sounds like a mini semi idling beside us all the time. Guess I didn't realize how noisy the AC can be. Because our quad is street legal, we can take it out and drive around the park. Its quite a big county park with lots to do. There is a day use only area, tenting area, RV areas, RC track to race your cars, playground, boat launch, baseball field, pavilion, showers, etc. It has everything here that you could want except for a laundromat and no sewer hookup. The pavilion had something going on a couple of days ago so we went to check it out. A couple politicians running for a county office were having a free BBQ. We attended that. I think alot of "traveling people" in the park went also. The "locals" didn't seem to mind we came for free food. We chatted with a couple of the people running for office.......We've driven into Parker to Safeway for groceries and to check out the RV park at the Blue Water Casino. The rest of the time we've been just hanging out here. We're doing the "healthy thing" by walking every night. Not far, but we're doing it. We'll sit along the water during our walk and watch all the water traffic. The river between Parker Dam and the Blue Water Casino is like a regular freeway. Lots of jet skies, small watercraft, and race boats with HUGE engines that ROAR! Dan loves those boats. Oh, and party boats with lots of people on them having a good time. I've been taking pictures of all the different water craft. Here are a few. Dan took his RC helicopter out to try and get it up into the air. So far he hasn't been successful in doing this. This time his little helicopter made it's maiden voyage. WOOHOO! It went up in the air, circled around over the top of us, then decided to land in a tree. This picture is a little blurry, but you get the idea. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of it landing up in the tree branches. One of the rotor blades broke off, so Dan has to do a repair job and he'll take it back out into the field and try again.
