Wednesday,12/3, Dan loaded up the quad in the truck, Canadian Jim did the same with his quad, and we drove 22 miles northeast of Bouse to see Camp Bouse. Dan,me,Kathy, and Jim. We decided when going a longer distance, we would haul the quads in our trucks, park the trucks/unload the quads and then ride to your intended destination. That would give us alot more time to do things. If we rode the quads all the way from our homes to where we wanted to go, by time you get there and look around for a little bit, you need to turn around and come right back home. Hauling them in the trucks make perfect sense. Camp Bouse is another place out here in the desert where General Patton's troops did tank exercises and whatever else having to do with WW2. We rode around looking for where we thought the tanks had been. Seen tracks made by them. That was rather cool when ya think how old the tracks are. We seen where, we think, a hospital had been and walkways set up in between tents and whatever structures had been there. LOTS of history out in the desert. I CANNOT imagine these poor guys living in the desert in the middle of the summer in canvas tents! We also found a geocache there. It needed some maintanance, so Dan and Kathy fixed it right up and hid it again. We're thinking that the hospital was near this sad looking flag. This unhappy flag needs to be retired properly and a new proud, happy flag needs to be flying over all this history. Just my opinion. It was a good day trip. We both came home tired. Here is a website to read a little on Camp Bouse. http://www.bousechamberofcommerce.com/explore.htm.... Kathy and I made up a geocache and put it in Bouse. WOOHOO for geocaches! This is the first I've done. It will be interesting to see how many people find it....On the way home I took some pictures of Venus and Jupiter. Of course my digital isn't gonna capture a good picture of them, but I love how they turned out anyway. The first one looks like UFOs. You can see both planets in the other pic, but it has the affects of the slower shutter speed also. I think it looks neat. Thursday,12/4 was a very lazy day for both of us. I didn't leave the rig until 3pm when we had a wiener roast at a campfire up the road. Dan was out on the quad for awhile with Canadian Jim. Just another retired day in the desert. Check out the picture of Dan(who claims he doesn't like dogs)and Daisy. She was getting cold and was snuggling up to him.
