Thursday, 2/19.........Dan, Kathy, and I went out on the quads today to do some geocaching. We had an amazing 25 mile ride through the mountains. We found 8 geocaches today. Cool. Kathy was looking for one of them and Dan seen movement and I heard noise. Dan yelled her name "Kathy" then he yelled again "Kathy, snake". She turned around and got away from where the rattler was. I was farther away then both of them and it's rattling was loud. It disappeared into a crevice, which was probably it's home, and we didn't see it again. The geocache was about 10' from the snake's home. We had an exciting moment. I put a warning on the geocache site so other people would know to be aware that we had seen a snake in the area. In the picture below to the left of Dan below the huge rock is where the snake is "hunkered" down in it's home. Dan was being careful, looking for the cache. He finally found it and far enough away from the snake's home. Here is Kathy standing away from the snake's home, looking down at where it is. Its to the left of her in the picture below the huge rock. Hope you enjoy the rest of the pictures. All of you that read my blog know that I love taking scenery pictures, so here are more desert pictures to check out. This last picture is where we found another geocache. Someone went to alot of work making this memorial. You never know what you find out in the desert. Notice all the desert green grass covering the ground. That is happening because of the recent rain we've had.
