Sunday 4/19...........It was a good travel day. We drove north on hwy 99 until Dan had enough of being beaten up. Some places on 99 are really bumpy. We finally crossed over to I-5 and drove to our destination for the night. Colusa County Fairgrounds. We're staying here for 2 nights. It sure is different being parked on grass and seeing big trees, but I still miss the desert and Quartzsite. Monday 4/20.........We had a lazy day today. The temp got up to 102. We walked around the fairgrounds and I snapped some pictures of our spot and some flower pictures of some petunias. We'll stay here again, I'm sure. Its a good stopping point for when we are heading over to hwy 101 to travel up the coast. Tuesday 4/21.........Another good travel day. We followed hwy 20 from Colusa to hwy 101 and ended up at a place we've stayed at before. I sure don't like seeing signs like this. I call them "butt pucker" curves and Dan just laughs at me. Benbow Hotel and Golf Resort. They also have an RV park and thats where we are. Another good stopping point along hwy 101. We've never been to the Hotel so after we got set up, we went into Garberville to fuel up, then went to the hotel for tea and homemade scones. They tasted so good. The hotel is really old and full of neat antiques. There were some lilacs outside and I had to take pictures of them. The lilac is my favorite flower and they smell so good. Wednesday 4/22.......It started out to be a good travel day, but almost at the end it became very windy. We drove from Benbow to Gold Beach, Oregon. You can tell we're near the ocean with the fog and the tsaumi signs. We stopped at a rest area and I snapped our rig from inside the cover of the redwood trees. And there were some rodadendrons that were blooming. Pretty. We're at the Oceanside RV Park. We stayed here last April. It was way too windy and cold to go out on the beach. Too bad cause we're very close to the ocean and I would have loved to take some pictures.
