Sunday, 4/5.........We left Deming, NM a day early to avoid any high winds. We will not miss Deming, NM. Yippee! Back in Arizona!
We had a good travel day and are staying at Augies Quail Trail RV Park in Gila Bend, AZ for 2 nights. We've stayed here before and its a pretty good park. We were both so tired of the wind blowing so hard and were glad to leave Deming..........Monday, 4/6....A most excellent day! Dan got the quad out and we went out exploring. Its nice to be back with all the neat cactus that Arizona has. And there were flowers to take pictures of. We also found two geocaches. Seen this little guy when we were looking for a geocache. When he spotted us, he froze. Didn't move a muscle. Maybe he was trying to blend in with the earth and if he didn't move we might not "see" him. Pretty smart bunnie. Soon as I got my pictures and we moved on, I seen him run off.
I love this tunnel made in 1916. It goes under the railroad tracks and we went through the tunnel.
We sure didn't have to wear a coat today. It was in the mid 90's. Here is Dan slathering on the suntan lotion.
Tuesday, 4/7......We left Gila Bend and headed back to our "home in the desert", Quartzsite. It was a most excellent travel day. Not too many miles and Dan didn't have to fight the wind. We REALLY like the spot where we park here on the BLM. Now we're back to dry camping again. We'll stay here until our season pass runs out on April 15th. Soon as we got all set up, Dan stayed here and I headed to Blythe to pick up things for Easter dinner. Our pals Rus and Deb will be coming over for "dinner in the desert".........Wednesday, 4/8.......Dan and I went for a nice quad ride today. The weather was nice. We only wore t-shirts out on the ride. Right at the beginning of our ride we spotted a tortoise on the quad trail. This is the first tortoise that we've seen in the three seasons that we've been coming here. I took some pictures of him and then we ventured on.
Of course I took scenery/flower pictures. So glad we're back in Quartzsite where I can take pictures like that. Deming, New Mexico showed me nothing in the way of the scenery being at all pretty. We found one geocache that was at this old mine with the excavator.
