Friday, 10/2.......Can you believe its October already? Here is a picture of our parking spot at Olde Stone Village in McMinnville, Oregon. ______________________________ This plane is sitting in front of the hanger and museum where the Spruce Goose is. ______________________________ Yesterday was a good travel day. No rain at all. Just steady traveling except for the construction we found in Newport, Oregon. We had to wait a little bit for our turn to go through, but then it was smooth traveling from then on. Sometimes I don't like the nasty hair-pin turns along Hwy 101 and in places the road is very narrow. I call them "butt-pucker" turns when we're riding on the Harley. hahahaha. Here are some ocean pics. We went through a tunnel, which we've been through several times before, where the sides are only 11'6". Needless to say, we need to travel right down the center of the road through the tunnel. So did the big motor home that we met as we came out the other side. At least, I sure hope he did or he'd be in trouble. I believe we're 13'whatever inches tall. I forgot. Anyway, we couldn't drive in the right lane through that tunnel. Just more fun traveling stuff. We arrived at the KOA in North Bend (right next to Coos Bay, OR) and went through our routine of setting up. Dan was anxious to go test out the new tires on the quad, so he got it out of the garage and off we go to the dunes. Last time we "rode the dunes" the sand was alot more damp. It was alot drier so our "not made for dune riding" quad had a harder time getting up the big dunes. We did alot of going up the dune, knew we couldn't make it, uh oh, and did a turn on the dune to come back down. We only had to back down twice. It was fun. We came back to camp and Dan adjusted something on the quad. He wants it to run just perfect and I think he likes tinkering on it anyway....I'm gonna slow cook some antelope for some chili for Saturday to share with our friends, Kittie and Bruce. Its suppose to rain so we'll be at their house enjoying some good campany and probably a nice fire in the fireplace. Thank you "pants" Andrew and "skirt" Tia for the meat! Andrew, Dan's son, the fearless hunter! ha! ______________________________ Special "hi" to Tammy and Ryan as we didn't get to see them before we left for our newest adventure. We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......I'll see the rest of the family on facebook. Tammy, you should try facebook. Its a fun place to keep in touch besides my blog!
