Saturday, 11/14.......I got up early this morning to attend a pancake breakfast that Debbie and Rusty's church put on. Yummy stuff. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. The people in the church had made some prickly pear cactus syrup. I tried that and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay YUMMY! I'll be buying a small jar of that stuff real soon. Dan didn't go with me. Way too early for him to get up at 6am. LOL LOL LOL....Thats ok. He can be more retired then I am. We are driving the 32 miles north to Parker. I made zucchini bread and fudge and donated it to Russ and Deb's church for the bake sale they are having at the other Catholic Church. We will stop by and see how the sale is going and then go run errands. Hitting all three big grocery stores there to try and find a ham for Thanksgiving, gotta stock up on groceries, and Dan has to get oil, etc for the truck. Its that time again for an oil change.........Sunday, 11/15.....We had intended to go out on the quad for a ride, but muther nature changed our minds. She decided to have a wind storm. Lots of blowing sand. We just stayed home today and chilled. Yesterday we got all our errands done in Parker and I found my Thanksgiving ham. WOOHOO for ham! No dry white meat turkey. The dark meat is fine, but I don't like the white meat and Dan doesn't like to eat turkey or chicken at all. I'll bake the ham and probably make a pistachio salad and make something else to set out with all the other food that we'll all be sharing. Sharing with our camping pals here where we're parked. Yummy! Hope its warm out so we can eat outside again......Monday, 11/16......Brrrrr! Brrrrrrrrrr! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! Got up this morning and it was only 46. Feels like I'm back up in WA!!!!! I'm all bundled up. The high is suppose to be 71 today. Hope its a high without a chill. At least the winds are out of the WSW. Its getting cold at night. Will have to start using the little, portable heater. Before we came here to Quartzsite 4 seasons ago, I didn't realize HOW cold the desert gets at night. I knew it got cold in the high desert, like in Nevada and Eastern Oregon, but we're not high here. I was thinking that since we've been "hanging out" here in the desert, that its just like going back to school. Every time we go riding on the quad we both see something new and different. Its a learning experience every time we are out and about. We both like the history part. There is so much history in this area that is interesting to us. Anyway, you could probably do a google search on "Quartzsite history" or "La Paz County AZ history" and read for yourself.
