Kathy and Connie Sonja and Darrell Sonja,Darrell,Dan,Connie,Kathy Excellent pic of Kathy geocaching Darrell,Connie,Kathy,Sonja. Canadian hill climbers Darrell,Kathy,Sonja,Connie Since I last wrote, our Canadian pal Sonja has had company here in the desert. They had never been out on quads before, so we've been out riding and taking them places. They are Darrell and Connie and you'll see pictures of them on here taken during our rides. We took them to Dripping Springs and Apache Cabin, two of the most popular places to show people, and we went back out to the Deere Run B&B that I wrote in an earlier entry. This is the place where Dan and I placed a new American flag. Of course while we were out on these adventures, everyone went rock hunting. There are so many different rocks out in the desert, its just unbelievable. We also found crystals. They are hard to find, at least for me. I always end up picking up a piece of quartz that hasn't made it to the crystal stage yet. In fact, we went in two vehicles one day and headed into the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge and and went to Crystal Hill. (One of the most notable mines in this area was the "Kind Of Arizona Mine". "Kofa" is contracted from "King Of Arizona".) Just a little info for ya. Darrell/Connie, Dan, Kathy, and Sonja thought they were mountain goats cause they all climbed so high it was sometimes hard for me to watch them from down in the dry wash where I was standing and taking pictures. Everytime I heard rocks tumbling down the hillside, I'd look up hoping no one had decided to take a tumble down the hill with the rocks. This is really a cool place to go check out.........Sonja's friends are now gone off to new adventures. It was fun meeting them. Nice people.....A couple of nights ago we had Hobo stew. Sonja and Kathy had this before when they were out on adventures with the local rock and gem club. It sure yummy! It consisted of hamburger, onions, shrooms, tomato stuff and any kind of beans you wanted to dump in the pot. It is good for using all your leftovers. I just might make it again real soon.........Oh my god! On Sunday 2/28 and I was sitting here minding my own business when our rig got hit by a dust devil. WHAM! Right into the back right side of our rig. BAM! Then I seen the swirling dusty wind go on down the dirt road. What a trip that was! Felt like a small earthquake. Like a mini tornado. Funny how the desert is so big and there is so much empty air space around us and the stupid whirly thing hits us. Probably about 5 feet to the right of our rig and I would have just seen it going on down the dirt road without hitting us. I could sure hear it too. Just like Mommy Nature took a small breath to blow out birthday candles and POOF, she got us! hahahahahaha.......Today was just "chore" day. Gas/water/propane/etc. And its soooooooooooo nice outside. We are enjoying having our doors open. I think the warmer weather is finally gonna show up. Old Mommy Nature sure had the desert fooled with all the rain shes been dumping on us. The desert is very green and some flowers are starting to peek out.......Just putting some pictures on here of our adventures and, of course, scenery pictures. No slide shows this time.
