My flamingo is all ready for Easter! Geeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz louise. I sure got a date wrong in the last blog. Oh well. I'll be more careful. The last couple of days have been pretty normal. One of the days was jewelry making day. That was fun. I made one bracelet and matching earrings. Check them out in the picture I took. Today, Friday 3/20, was a most excellent day. We went out on the quad with Sonja and was gone for 8 hours. It was very warm, almost hot. Took alot of flower pictures, scenery pictures, people pictures, and bunny pictures. Actually we seen a jack rabbit, a very young one, and he seen us. He sat very still the whole time we were taking pictures of him. Only his eyes were moving, watching us. I believe that he sat still so as to "blend in" with the desert. It was too strange. Or maybe its a normal thing for a jack rabbit to do. Anyway, it was nice of him to "hang out" with us and "pose" for pictures. hahahahahaha. Monday, 3/22......Me, Dan, and Sonja drove to Algodones, Mexico. Sonja got herself a couple of pairs of new glasses. We all bought a few little things then ate at a outdoor cafe type place. Fish tacos for me! YUMMY! Dan and I posed in front of the famous Green Door. Dan walked inside to see how many "ladies" were sitting around waiting for the next customer. I did not get the warm fuzzies going across the border this time. Its so easy to just walk over the border from the USA to Mexico. No one checks you. Soon as we were in Mexico this time, we seen what looked like Mexican militia dressed in camo with guns slung over their shoulders. Not a fun thing to see when you're going into another country. We were all very aware of the Mexican police hanging around on the streets too. More then normal. On our side of the border our guys were all hanging around too. There was even a guy up in the guard tower thing that sits up high above the "processing" building. We had to wait 1hr 45min to get back into our own country. Its no fun going across the border anymore. We had a good time anyway. After we finally got back to our side of the border, we headed to Sam's Club for some shopping then to Cracker Barrel to eat dinner before driving back home. Aside from waiting in a long line, it was a most excellent day...........Tuesday, 3/23.......We all went for another quad ride. Sonja's last ride before she puts her quad in storage. We drove out to the sand dunes and out to where General Patton's troops trained during WW2. Collected some rocks. Mostly jasper. I love looking for jasper. We came across this guy staring at us. He was acting just like the jack rabbit thinking he was invisible. We came home, ate dinner, then Dan and Sonja played some cribbage. I don't know anything about playing cribbage so they were too funny to watch and listen too. Lots of laughter. The last couple of days we've just stayed around home. I have a new laptop and am trying to learn how to work windows 7. So far I like it better then windows vista. We'll see how it goes. Here are some more scenery and flower pictures.
