Since I last wrote we've had lazy days, a weenie roast around the campfire, grocery shopping day, and went out on the quad a couple of times. Just more everyday desert life. Its been cold out at night but is trying to warm up during the day. It was in the mid 70's today and we were out helping pal Kathy hide a geocache. Thats always fun to do. Soon I'll be planning things for Christmas. Baking things. Fudge, candy cane cookies, and I don't know what else yet. Heres a some pics of our ride and a sunset. Love the sunsets. We also went out for a couple of hours with Canadians Kathy and Jim. Dan took the metal detector. Him and Jim were looking for gold. Jim found a tiny flake........Thursday, 12/9. Dan and I went to Las Vegas 12/7. We spent the night at the Silverton Resort and Casino where the Bass Pro Shop is. We really like this place. The Bass Pro Shop is fun to look around and we both love the big aquarium. We played the slots and came out a tiny bit ahead which is always good. And the casino has the most excellent regular buffet. Dan flew from Las Vegas to Seattle on Wednesday 12/8. He went to surprise his twins for their birthday. Andrew, 1/2 of the twins, and his wife Tia and daughter Amelia, all live in Florida. They flew home from Florida to share the birthday with the other 1/2 of the twin, Audrey, and to show everyone Amelia. She is about 2 months old. I know Dan is gonna have a good time. I'm back home in the desert. What a long drive from Las Vegas to Quartzsite! I could have made it shorter but I hate driving the long straight two lane roads. My route was a little longer, but about 75% of the trip was on 4 lane roads. I hate everyone barreling down on me, especially the truckers who are speeding, when I'm doing the speed limit most of the time and they wanna push me along. Crap! Am I in a hurry? Nope! On the 4 lane roads they can just go around and speed right past me.......Friday, 12/10. Well, Dan has told me that his son was very surprised to see him at the airport. Cool. We wanted to keep it a secret. Dan also surprised his mom today. And me? Today friend Kathy and I went out on the quads rock hunting for special flat rocks to paint on. It was about 80 out and just a most wonderful day.
