Don't ya just love the sunrise picture? We're not gonna be seeing things like this until we go back to the desert.Friday 2/18. Change of plans. We didn't stop in Mojave Valley. Instead we drove all the way to Vegas. We'll stop at the other RV park on the way back to Quartzsite. We are at Arizona Charlie's RV Park. There is also a big casino here. We'll stay here for the next 3 nights just chillin. It sure is a treat to have full hook-ups. Haven't had them since the middle of last October. Its colder here and I guess in a couple of days, the daytime high is only gonna be 45. BRRRR. We have the big heater on. Guess we're gonna have to get out the portable propane heater...Saturday 2/19. Woke up to a very cloudy grey sky and rain. Oh sigh. Last night it was windy windy and I put some meat on the barbie outside. Dan had finally found a place where the wind wasn't so bad. Under the front of our rig. So there I sit under the front end all bundled up against the wind and cold turning meat on the bbq. I wish Dan would have taken a picture of me right then. I had on a heavy hoodie with the hood up and tied under my chin. BRRRRRRRRRR. It was worth being outside cooking cause the steaks were yummy. I felt like an ice cube though........I can't believe how much I miss the desert and how quiet it is there as compared to being in the big city. Being out in Quartzsite since last October has spoiled both of us. Dan found it very "trying" to drive in Las Vegas with all the traffic. NO ONE goes slow here and we had several people cut right in front of us on the freeway leaving less then two car lengths between us. And we're pulling 40' of 5th wheel behind us. UGH! Never in this lifetime would Dan be able to stop our rig if something had happened right in front of us. And today will be worse outside because the roads will be slick from the rain. This morning so far I've heard noises I hadn't heard in a long time. The garbage man in his truck doing his job in the RV park, sirens close by and not in the distance, many vehicles out on the Boulder Hwy, people in the RV park getting "road ready", and other city sounds. I told Dan when we got here and were setting up that it sure was noisy here with all the sounds we haven't heard for awhile. I guess whoever is reading this just wouldn't understand unless you've lived somewhere away from the city for awhile. Good thing we're staying home so Dan can watch the race, then we'll WALK next door to the casino and check out their buffet.
