A nice picture of alot of the workampers parked with an Nellis Air Base background. Notice that the hills are bare. Friday 2/25. Geeeeeez louweeeeeeeez anyway! What a big wind we had all day and all night. Never was able to get the internet in the morning and finally had to lower the satellite dish on top of our rig because of the high wind gusts. A couple of the gusts pushed the slide in a little bit. If the wind could do that, I knew the satellite dish would take a beating. The winds battered us all day and night. Dan only worked 3 1/2 hours because nothing would stay put when they set it up. Not even many jets from the air base went up. We just hung out at home. I played offline games on the laptop and read. Dan played racing games on his PS2. Last night we watched 3 movies that I had bought at the Quartzsite library. Then last night a huge motorhome came in late. I could see his headlights and he was staying close to our rig. We are parked by a fence with maybe about 15' between us and the fence. The space is not a parking spot and doesn't have any hookups. He was trying to squeeze in between us and the fence. Only problem was, #1 it was not a parking spot, #2 it was pitch black out and he couldn't see out his right side to back up, #3 next to the fence is a fire hydrant with 4 posts around it. He was looking out his left side and trying to avoid the post but as he was doing that, the right back of his motorhome was heading right for our first slideout. Dan had told him that it wasn't a parking spot and I guess he yelled at Dan over his engine rumble that he was trying to miss the post. Well, big deal. I was outside watching him and he was about 8' to 10' from our slide. It wouldn't have been very pretty if he had backed into our living room slide! He must have gotten frustrated cause he pulled out fast and pulled into an empty spot a near us, backed out, and went back out though the opening in the fence the way he came in. He is now backed into a space next to us on the other side of the fence with hookups. I hope he checks it out in the daylight where he tried to squeeze in. Dan says I over reacted, but when ya see this huge thing coming at your home I guess ya over react! If he didn't want hookups and it had been daylight, he might have been able to fit in next to us, maybe, if he could have seen where he was backing. And we ended up knowing these people as Dan had worked with them a few years ago, so all is well. Anyway, that was our excitement for Friday night. hahaha........Saturday 2/26. No wind today. Just like a dead calm. Gonna try and bring the satellite dish up so I can have internet. I'm writing offline in WordPad right now.......WOOHOO! I have the internet again. Dan didn't work today. It rained part of the day and the guy he is working with never came back. Glad hes not gonna work with him AFTER Sunday. It was just something extra. We just hung out all day being lazy and keeping warm.........Sunday, 2/27. Dan is suppose to work this morning, IF the guy shows up. We'll see. At 1pm he meets with the original people that hired him and all the other workampers, then we move our rig to Gate 9. We'll be there all week and through the weekend races. No more full hookups. And its gonna be cold out. Look what is out on the hills on the air base this morning. First picture is motorhome hill with nice bare hills in the background. The next one has that four letter word, SNOW! Looking across the track from motorhome hill. UGH! Snow go away!!!!!! I don't like the snow that much because I don't like being cold. Its gonna be quite chilly for the next several days but according to the weather on the internet, its gonna get better. I'm all for that as Dan will be working outside the whole time. Right now I can see snow on the hills and the sun is shining brightly with only a few clouds. Lovin' that blue sky!
