Its been BUSY since I last wrote. I've been driving Christine to a few places seeing as she can't turn her neck yet because of the stitches, Dan's mom was here for several days, we got the new tires on our truck, etc. Just busy busy busy.....Dan's mom is back home now and Christine has gotten her stitches out. She still can't yank her head around to look at something. She'll have to be careful for awhile, but shes feeling good and can breath good again. When I took her to get the stitches out, Dr. Rice told us that the goiter was softball sized, not mushy feeling as I had asked him that, it was a harder mass, it was wrapping around her windpipe, pushing down on her lungs, and looked like a big cluster of green grapes. YUK!!!!!!!!!!! I believe he was amazed when he seen it and told us that he wished he would have taken a picture of it. I guess the research people will be having fun "playing" with this goiter, doing their researching and testing stuff. No wonder my poor sister couldn't breath or talk right. I personally am SO glad she had this done!!!!!!!!!!! She should be feeling pretty good by time we leave on Sept 29th. _____________________________ Dr. Dan took such good care of her incision. Dan and his mom just before he took her back home.

And somewhere along the way Summer turned into Fall. I didn't even notice as the weather is still the same except for it getting darker a tiny bit earlier. Oh, and the squirrels that Bella chases around the yard are REALLY storing up the peanuts. And I finally got the garage in our 5th wheel cleaned out so the quad can be loaded in soon. I was putting that off all summer since we took the quad out and parked it in my mom's garage. You know how your garage can become a "catch all" for everything? Thats what happened to our garage. It looks so good now. Dan finished up doing stuff to the outside of our rig. Except for some odds and ends, we're pretty well "road ready".

Your sister is sure lucky to have you there to help in her care, Whew she was lucky, I did the same thing last fall after my sister in PA had surgery and was bedridden for three months, I stayed up there and was the nurse since she didn't have in home care on her insurance.Hope she recovers completely. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna....
