Wednesday and Thursday, September 19/20........Had a real short travel day from Reno to Hawthorne, Nevada. We're staying at Whiskey Flats RV Park. This is the third time we've been in this park. Its a real nice park, right across the street from the army depot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawthorne_Army_Depot. Just a little reading for you to check out. We're here for two nights so we can be lazy aside from doing laundry. Bella likes it here as shes been out lizard chasing. We can take her way out away from the rv park and she can hunt in the scrub brush or just lay in the shade. During the day she doesn't have to be on her leash as long as we're away from the rv park. Any other time, in the park and a night walk, shes on the leash. One night there were a big bunch of fireworks happening. We were told that pyrotechs light them off experimenting with new. There were small ones, big ones, and loud boom ones. That is Dan's favorite. The big booms. I looked this up on the internet and found out that the Western Pyrotechnic Association  was having a gathering here in Hawthorne I guess to demonstrate new pretty stuff and some big booms.

Friday September 21........Well, as you can see in the pictures below, we had a problem. The tread came off the tire and slapped right through the bathroom floor. Oh wonderful. When we opened the bathroom cabinet door under the sink, it was a total mess. Nice big hole, the side of the cabinet was splintered, and a big bottle of aloe vera burst open. This is gonna cost alot of money to fix. Dan changed the tire and we ventured on to Beatty, NV and stayed at Beatty RV Park. Hmmm. No spare tire now. How about that? The tire that fell apart was just a year or so old. DO NOT buy LES SCHWAB tires. Our spare was a Les Schwab tire. We wondered if it was gonna come apart too on our way to Vegas.

And, I hope we don't have anymore bad tires. BUT! We still have two more Les Schwab tires on our rig.........Saturday September 22.....We are in Vegas at the Hitchin Post RV Park. Closest park I could find to the racetrack. Kind of a crowded park but its a place to stay for the next 3 days. Dan bought another tire, NOT Les Schwab, put it on our rig and we should be good to go. Soon we'll be replacing the other two Les Schwab tires. We figure it will be cheaper to buy new tires and get rid of the crap tires. It just costs too much to repair the damage on our rig from these stupid tires. The other two bad tires were blow outs. Ripped stuff up from under our rig on the left side and the other blow out ripped out the propane lines on the right side of the rig. That was costly. Anyway, thats the "don't buy Les Schwab tires" story.

Hope it didn't take out any of the water lines, I had a tire blow on the left side and it also put a hole in the floor and took out my main grey/black water valve, my old fiver had one big valve with two pull handles on it, the new one has seperate pull handles in different location , plus i added a valve at the end cap.To make this short, it took forever and to times sending the wrong valve back before I got the right one, and then I glued new piping in. The insurance didn't cover a blowout. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

I'm curious, Les Schwab uses a couple of brands of tires, can you tell us which brand it was?

Sam and Donna....Thanks for the comment. Our poor rig has gone to hell and back because of the tires going bad. You guys be safe out there too.

Kevin........The brand is Gladiator. We've had VERY bad luck with them.
