Ok, ok, I know this isn't a picture of Utah, but I just pulled it from a web-site last night. It was a free picture that Kasey Kahne's crew was taking and I had to get it online with the number they gave me. Cool, huh?

Our stay here is almost over. Still have no idea where we're going next. Guess it will be a surprise!..........Sunday we just lazed around. We were outside all day because it was so nice. We did take a short bike ride to the other side of a small rise from our 5th wheel to see the man-made Sand Hollow Reservoir. Its pretty big and lots of people bring their boats here. And not row boats or in-board cabin cruisers. Speed and racing type boats. Seen a few jet skies out there too and one big sail boat. It just amazes me that MAN can make something out of nothing. HE can fill a large hole with water and make a man-made lake/reservoir with ducks and even seagulls! In the middle of cactus and mesquite and red sand. Just amazing! And the rocks are REALLY reddish in color. Just like the sand dunes. I put some pictures on here of the seagulls, the view across the reservoir to the quad staging area, and a couple views of the reservoir. I seen people fishing, so the State must plant fish in here every year. The water was not warm. I expected it to be warmer.

Doesn't it just seem weird to see seagulls away from the ocean, or Puget Sound, or HUGE lakes like the Great Lakes? This is desert type country and they found their way to a man-made reservoir. I just associate seagulls with lots of water.

Yesterday we took the quad back out again. We had the staging area all to ourselves. That was nice. I guess everyone had to return to work (that four letter word) and the kids had school again after spring break. Anyway, we went a different way this time, following a fence line for a long ways, then back up into the rocks. It is so pretty among all the big rocks. We're thinking that there used to be a volcano here a long time ago because we've seen rocks that look like the ones we've seen around St. Helens back home. Sitting in among the huge red rocks only hearing the wind, really makes you wonder what it used to look like millions of years ago. We're pretty sure there might have been a huge earthquake at one time because of the long splits in the rocks. Maybe not. Just a guess. Dan tried to forge new trails among the rocks. Trying to be a mountain goat is fine. The quad does great climbing. But, trying to get from point A to point B on a rock that is a little too slanted, sometimes doesn't work. hahahahaha.......We ended up on 3 wheels with one wheel sticking up in the air. We tilted so much that Dan couldn't stay on. The slant of the quad forced him to get off. He put the quad in reverse and backed us down. I wasn't being forced to get off, so I just stayed on and leaned the opposite way. Good thing we weren't on a cliff! Just a rocky trail. We didn't go on such a slant again. Dan forges new trails around difficult places or we just turn around and find another trail. The views from the top just fantastic. You really can't see how nice the views are in my pictures. The last picture is looking from the quad staging area to where our home is in the State Park. Enjoy the pictures.
