Yesterday and today were fantastic! We spent yesterday at the Neon Garage. Its brand new and located on the infield of the track. You can check the track and Neon Garage out at www.lvms.com
We got up close to where the cars are worked on and we could look down on the driver's semi trucks. We were above it all. We couldn't see pit road though and couldn't get passes as they had been sold out. We checked out where #9 was, Kasey Kahne, our favorite. Got some good shots of him. Dan sat and watched the qualifying on a flat screen tv while I was watching the Elvis, Garth Brooks, Charley Daniels, Jerry Lee Lewis, Temptations, Tom Jones, and other impersonators, sing on the main stage of the Neon Garage. We packed a lunch and bought cold drinks at the Garage.

Today was VERY loud! I used earplugs today while the race was going. We were worried about our butts getting sore from sitting on the hard benches. No problem there! You are up and down, up and down, up and down all the time. Soon as the race starts, you are on your feet. After a couple of laps, people sit back down. If the yellow flag come out, you're back up on your feet again. Guess we got some good exercise today. The yellow flag came out 12 times! The last time was for Kasey Kahne. He lost control of his car. He tried driving around turn 2 too fast and his wheels slid out from under him and the back end of his car hit the wall. He wasn't hurt. He just made a big boo-boo. And he was in position 7 at the time. Interesting race.

I think the best part of the day is when Dan did the Richard Petty Driving Experience. A driver took him around the race track. I know he was thrilled and he really liked it. His top speed was about 165. He is in car #2, second car in the line. Dan had his 15 minutes of fame today. Dan, famous NASCAR driver.
