This blog entry was started on Nov 17 and published today 11/21. Just everyday life happening since I last wrote. All that boring stuff. Laundry, grocery shopping in Blythe (also stopping by Starbucks!!), washing our VERY dirty truck at a car wash, and getting propane/gas/water. Although one day I took Kathy out on our quad and we did some geocaching within a 5 mile range from where we were camped. We found 3 caches and stopped by one yard sale. We had a fun afternoon. Today Canadian Ken and wife Diane and pals Jim and Carol rolled on in from Las Vegas. Jim was taking care of his eyes. They are all setting up camp. Now we have 4 rigs in our group here in the desert.......Tomorrow, 11/18, Dan and I are going to Yuma, stop by the Bank of America, then venture into Mexico. Dan has an appointment with a dentist in Algodonas. Gonna see what can be done about fixing his teeth. After that appointment we'll look around a bit before heading back into Yuma. We're staying the night at a Best Western instead of driving all the way back to Quartzsite. Then we can go to Sam's Club before coming back home. Possibly we'll stay another night. Depends on what the dentist says.........11/18, Dan went to the dentist in Algodones today. This woman dentist did ALOT of work on him. Now hes wearing temporary caps. When he goes back on Thursday, he'll get his permanent caps. Then next week sometime or the week after, not sure yet, he'll get his partial. Dan seemed to really like the dentist. I sat in her office and waited for about 4 hours while he got his work done. Walking around Algadones alone didn't appeal to me, so I sat and chatted with the other people in the office and "people watched" out the office window. We had to wait in a long line to get out of Mexico. I didn't expect that as its still early in the "snowbird" season. So, we're gonna stay two nights instead of the planned one. We REALLY got a nice room at the Best Western. Actually its a suite with a jacuzzi tub, separate bedroom, living room, and full kitchen. And it was only 99 bucks. This is one of the few times I've used my "retired from the government" badge for a good discount. We both think we got quite a deal. Tomorrow, 11/19 we can have a lazy day. The only thing on our "to do list" is to buy a few things at Sam's Club...Well, we did more then just go to Sam's Club. We went to a place called The Peanut Patch. It was a cute shop. All about peanuts, olives, candies, jams, sauces, etc, and gift baskets made up with stuff like this. Stopped by Albertsons so I could buy some sweet potatoes as Sam's Club didn't have any. Went to Paradise Casinos. The Arizona/California border goes right through the middle of the casino, thus, two casinos. Thats how it looked to me anyway. I came out 17 bucks ahead, so we headed off to a Chinese joint for dinner. The day was busier then we both thought it would be.......Thursday, 11/20. Dan went back to the dentist. We spent almost all day, off and on, in her office. She did alot more work. One of the times we weren't in the office we watched a parade. It was a government holiday in Mexico so they were celebrating with the parade and lots of music. We finally got out of Mexico at about 4:15pm. While standing in line to get out of Mexico, I looked up at these pretty flowers with our flag flying in the wind. Looked like a neat picture, so I snapped it. It was a long day. Dan doesn't have to go back until next Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I'm so glad we're home. Its always good to come back home........Friday, 11/21. Back home again. I've been on the computer all morning working on this blog and getting all the pictures off the pc. Soon I'll be taking it to the computer doctor to get rid of all the errors that keep happening. Dan really slept in this morning. It was 11am before he finally got up. The "going to the dentist thing" really took alot of energy out of him and his mouth didn't feel very good. It was only 52 this morning when I got up. Starting to get chilly at night, but with a high of 84 today, it will be quite nice.
