We left Dan's mom on Thursday, 5/21 and headed to Bremerton for the summer. We wanted to get there before everyone started traveling for the holiday weekend. Traffic in the Northwest just plain sucks during a 3 day weekend. Worse then a normal weekend. Knowing the roads and traffic habits in the area, we made it to Bremerton without any problems. Ya just gotta go in that small window of opportunity in between rush hour traffics. hahahahahahaha.....That window is getting smaller and smaller. Like between 11am and 2:30pm. Now, thats bad, but its normal in this area. It actually was a pretty drive, even though we've driven it a ga-zillion times before. Lots of shades of green in the trees and you could still see snow on the mountains. We have a good place to park here at my mom's house. We have access to all hookups and park on grass.......We parked and all settled for the summer. We shouldn't have to leave our spot until we head back to Arizona again. Now that I have internet again, I can play "catch up". WOOHOO for internet! I sure missed not having it for almost a week. Guess I'm spoiled, but, oh well. I love my computer. My sister Christine has her grandson, Gabe, living with her now. Christine Mariane, Patty's mom (Christine and my mom live together.) And my great-nephew, Caleb, stays here before/after school and during the summer while his parents work. Caleb and Uncle Dan seem to have a special bond and after he got off the bus and spotted our rig in the yard, that kid put his legs in high gear! I know he missed Uncle Dan and he was VERY happy to see him. Gabe was in high gear too, but hes always in high gear. Gabe in the front, Caleb in the back Uncle Dan and Caleb Doing homework We hadn't seen him in a couple of years and it took a few minutes to "check us out" and remember who we were. It should be interesting with both of them running around here. I'm sure they'll be excited when Uncle Dan finally takes the quad out and parks it in my mom's garage. So far things around here have been half way lazy and half way busy. Depends on how you wanna look at it. Jason has been here on his day off to chat and bug his Auntie Christine. She was putting in a small garden behind our rig and Jason just couldn't stand how slow she was going. He grabbed the shovel and dug all the holes for her and helped her plant everything. He loves to "bug" and tease her all the time. Hopefully we'll see some of the veggies ripen before we leave here. If the weather is good, I'm sure we'll be eating some of the stuff she planted. Jason "hung out" for awhile, I made him some sandwiches, and off he went later on to avoid the rush hour traffic in and around Bremerton.........Christine has been making friends with the squirrels that live in the back orchard, especially one squirrel that she calls Baby. This little critter comes right up to the back porch and collect the peanuts she lays out for him/her. (Don't know what gender it is.) It came right up to Gabe and was looking for a handout and came up to where I was sitting and checked me out too. Finally it went to the porch and took the peanut out of Christine's mouth. My mom lines the peanuts up on the porch railing and Baby can come pick them up anytime. They both play in the yard and are too funny. They roll around and chase each other. Its cute. If Bonehead was still with us, she would have given them a "challenge" just sitting there looking at them. They would have had to think twice about getting to the porch railing. hahahaha.......Last night we went to see Gabe and Caleb play t-ball. They are close to the same age and on different teams. They played against each other. If you've never seen a game of t-ball, its pure comedy. It was fun to watch and I think its good for the boys to be involved in it.Caleb is in the blue and Gabe is in the red. I managed to get them both in two pictures. I'm thinking that life will be interesting here this summer with the boys around, t-ball games, family bbq's, things we need to accomplish on our rig, going through some stuff in our storage unit, and lots of lazy days.
