Boy oh boy. Mommie nature sure can't make up her mind about what shes doing. Very hormonal I would say. Its been nice here. Pleasantly warm and still chilly at night. Chilly enough to use the heater. But yesterday sure was different from the nice day before. "Hmmmm", old lady nature says. "Everyone back up in the Seattle area is having bad weather". "Maybe I should give the Bremerton people something to talk about". She did. We had a dust storm. Oh fun. Somtimes it seemed like we were in the middle of it, wind blowing and dust thick enough we couldn't see the hills. Then sometimes we'd see dust devils heading for us caused by gusty winds and POW, right into our rig. Wind gusts that sure made Bella sit up and look all around. I got a couple of pictures of the dust coming at us, but these two pictures don't EVEN compare to other pictures I could have taken. I just wasn't ready with my camera. Guess you would have to have been here to really know what I was talking about. The wind was blowing out of the southwest so at least it wasn't the cold north wind. I was very surprised that we didn't have to lower the satellite dish. Yea for that. When the wind gusts get REAL bad, we'll lower the dish just for its own protection. The wind blew all day and up until we went to bed. The sun was peeking out through the clouds all day and it wasn't cold, just windy and dusty. We took Bella outside to play when the wind seemed to take a little rest, but then it would start blowing dust again. One of the times we had her out, she was doing her usual "checking all the holes around the brush" looking for her lizard pals. She found one hole that was interesting to her and she wanted to play with the critter laying there. Not! She had found a baby rattlesnake who was half way sleeping. He must have moved out closer to the opening of the hole to feel the warm sun. She tried to pull it out of the hole with her paw for some playtime, Dan spotted what it was, I grabbed her and carried her far away from that bush, and Dan relocated the little snake to another bush farther away from our "walking Bella area". He only did that because she remembers where shes seen critters and goes back to the same sticker bushes looking. And, thats why we go outside with her to walk and play and not let her out alone. And we have fun taking her out and about and watching her play........There are more and more people out and about in the desert now with all the RV's parked out here and we see people in the distance all the time taking their dogs for walks. So far I haven't seen anyone walking their cat. I think a few people have seen us in the desert from a distance and can't figure out why it looks like we're just standing around or moving slowly and they don't see a dog on the end of a leash. We must look funny to them because the brush is not that interesting just to stare at. Bella is small and they almost never see her unless they are close to us. Then they can see why we are moving slowly among the brush watching Bella explore all the critter holes. Ok. Enough about our Bella cat. See you all in the next blog entry.
