I'm really knocking on wood as ever since Dan hooked our old modem back up, the satellite dish is working just dandy. The repair guy couldn't get the new modem to register or whatever he does, so we never bought it. Sure glad because that would have cost some money to replace. Never did find out what was wrong. If it really was our modem or Hughes net was having a problem. Anyway, we're back up and working good............We've just been living everyday life. Our friend Sonja's sister Gail came to visit from Edmonton, Alberta. She went on a quad ride with us out to the dunes where General Patton had some of his troops preparing for war. Besides playing in the dunes you can walk around the outlying area and find bullets, clips the bullets were kept in, tracers, and maybe a 50 caliber casing. Remnants of days gone by when the soldiers were out in this area. Lots and lots of history here. It was a good quad ride and was fun racing up and down the small sandy dune hills. It was nice and warm out too so that was a plus.........Its been quite nice out since I last wrote. Shhhhh. Won't say that too loud. I want the nicer and warmer weather to stay for awhile. Bella sure has liked it as some of the lizards come out and play in the sun. Dan says that she is doing CPR with them. Catch/Play/Release. I'm kind of being on the lookout for rattlers when its a little warmer out. So far I've not seen any sign of them. They must be happy hiding away for the winter. Gail, Sonja, Darrell Here they all are following Dan We'll be going under I-10. You can just barely see the top to a semi-truck. Hi Dan!!!!!!! Small but fun sand hills to climb Gail, Dan, Ken View of the desert Dan and I rode the quad on Jan 7th to the annual Hi Jolly Daze Parade. Look Hi Jolly up and read about him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi_Jolly I was told that the camel was borrowed from a small zoo in Yuma. I didn't even know Yuma had a zoo. I never looked for a web-site and one wasn't listed on the pamphlet I was given, so you'll just have to drive to Yuma, AZ someday and find the Wild World Zoo and Camel Farm. After the parade there was a bake sale, some places to eat, and music. We stayed for awhile and then wandered back home.
