We are on the downhill slide to leaving here for a couple of weeks. We'll be leaving 2/26 or 2/27, heading to Las Vegas Motor Speedway so Dan can work at the NASCAR races again. My son Jason will be meeting us there on March 7th. Cool. So, Bella doesn't have too long to be able to roam the desert. Last time we were at the speedway she did quite well, so she'll be ok this time too I'm thinking. After the races and after Jason flies back home, we'll head back to Quartzsite for a little while. We need to come back here anyway to pick up our quad and some other stuff that we keep in our garage. Can't take it with us. Need to set up a place to sleep for Jason. We've been parked in the same spot since the end of last October. Our home might moan and groan when Dan moves it. Kind of like us. ha! Anyway, we'll be off to a new adventure. We've been here long enough to sprout roots! When we come back more of the desert should be starting to bloom. We'll be out on the quad taking more flower pictures. Dan and Bella strolling in one of the dry washes. It was chilly out and the critters were in their holes/homes staying warm, so this was a tree climbing day for Bella. A view of our "home in the desert".This is what people around here call the "sleeping indian". His face is to the right of the page, hes laying on his back, and his arms are across his chest. Use your imagination. Tiny, tiny flowers. I can't wait for the bigger flowers to start blooming. And, you can see what we came across while out walking Bella. This little guy looked like he was asleep, but I'm thinking as he noticed us and wanted to get away, he was a little chubby. Like maybe he was in the process of digesting his food. Hes a sidewinder and a young one. You can tell how small he was as compared to Dan's "snake picker upper". Dan removed him to a place far away from our rig and a safe place for him.
